Places to Stay and Eat

Why not make the most of your visit to Hexham Races by staying overnight and spending a day or two exploring Hexham and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

A photo of Hexham Abbey

There are many sites to visit, most of which are just a short drive away from the racecourse and town centre: Hexham Abbey, Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda Roman Fort and Settlement, Prudhoe Castle and Northumberland National Park.

There are vast areas of countryside and parks to walk around and leisure pursuits such as golf or angling (the River Tyne is one of the best salmon rivers in England) are close by.

You can find more information on the visithexham.net website which is a good resource for eateries, pubs, attractions, sport, leisure facilities, art, music, history of the Hexham, shopping and things to do if you want to spend more time in the town before or after racing.
