A Day at the Races

Enjoy a friendly atmosphere with a superb view of the course and the magnificent surrounding countryside. Enjoy a drink and a light snack in the bar or a full meal in the restaurant or private box.

There are also many opportunities for companies and groups to entertain guests and sponsor races.

At The Races

Hexham Racecourse takes full advantage of a natural amphitheatre of sloping grass below the stands to provide superb viewing of horse racing as well as the magnificent surrounding countryside.

Henderson Room

Overlooking the parade ring, the Henderson Room offers great dining with a panoramic view of the course and the winner's enclosure.

Pavilion Restaurant

Grand Buffet with traditional carvery, hot and cold cuisine, salad bar and desserts to tantalise your taste buds, with a superb view of the course.

Wedding Ceremonies

Hexham Racecourse has a licence to hold marriage ceremonies and set in beautiful country surroundings it's the perfect venue for the ceremony and reception.

Welcome to Hexham Racecourse. We would like to thank you for entering your horse in one of our races and hope that you experience an enjoyable and successful day.

  • Partnerships/Syndicates - 6 badges.

Additional badges

  • Single Ownership - additional badges up to 6 at £10 each.
  • Partnerships/Syndicates - additional badges up to 6 at £10 each.

Additional badges are available at the above discounts on application to the Racecourse Office or at the Owners & Trainers Entrance.

Please provide a list of names for any badges required at a specific meeting and these will be available to collect on racedays at the Owners & Trainers Entrance. It is possible that these people will be asked for identification when collecting their badges.

The Going

The latest information about the Going and Going Stick (when available) will be updated after each inspection and shown on the latest news page. During poor weather conditions there are more frequent inspections. Note: The most up to date GOING is published on our Twitter feed, which appears on the left hand side of every webpage or you can access it anytime here.

 

Owners & Trainers Facilities

There is a dedicated Owners & Trainers Bar located at the top of the Parade Ring for those who have runners on the day. This bar provides Owners and Trainers with complimentary tea and coffee as well as a bowl of soup and a bread roll. Other refreshments are also available to purchase.

The Bramble Tudo bar at Hexham Racecourse

Owners and Trainers are welcome to book a table in our Pavilion Restaurant for themselves and their guests. A table for the day and a four course grand buffet lunch is available for a discounted price of £64.80 per person (10% discount). Ladies Day will be £67.50 (10% discount). The restaurant overlooks the racecourse and has two bars and tote betting points.

Prior booking is essential. Regrettably, tables cannot be reserved for owners and trainers due to the popularity of this restaurant on busy race meetings. More details on the Pavilion Restaurant can be found on our Hospitality page.

 

Facilities for people with disabilities?

Hexham Racecourse has free disabled parking and there is a lift in the main Ramshaw Stand.

There is a viewing area for wheelchair users. This is located next to the Parade Ring and overlooking the racecourse.

Disabled toilets can be found on the first floor of the Ramshaw Stand, the toilet block at the top of the Parade Ring and the toilet block at the back of the Princess Anne Bar.

Disabled parking and the viewing area for wheelchair users are identified on the racecourse plan in locations 20 and 12 respectively.

 

Dress Code

The dress code at Hexham Racecourse is Smart / Casual, however we do encourage you to dress for the weather.

 

Winning Connections

If your horse is a winner at Hexham Racecourse, you will receive a memento presented by our race sponsor, plus a complimentary photograph and a DVD of your race. Winning connections will also be invited into the Directors Box for a glass of champagne to toast their winner and review their race.

Race DVDs & Photographs

If you would like a DVD memento of your horse running at Hexham, please email julie.phelps@attheraces.com and give her the name of the horse and date it ran. There is a charge for the service, which Julie will be able to advise you on.

Our Racecourse Photographer is John Grossick. You can view and purchase photographs from any raceday at Hexham at www.grossick.co.uk.
